Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport is about 25 miles from Ann Arbor; University of Michigan guidance allows roughly 30–45 minutes in normal traffic. AirRide and Michigan Flyer serve both terminals, while airport rideshare zones and rental cars cover direct transfers. Check the current pickup point and schedule before landing.
Amtrak uses 325 Depot Street, north of downtown. TheRide's system guide shows Route 3 serving the station and Blake Transit Center; verify the current route and train status, or use a taxi or rideshare for the final transfer to Main Street or the hotel.
I-94 carries approaches from Detroit and Chicago, while US 23 handles north-south traffic. Event dates can change ramps, parking access, and the last few miles around campus and Michigan Stadium.
Downtown and campus on foot
Use the Maynard Street structure for State Street and the University of Michigan (U-M) Central Campus, or Fourth and William for Main Street. Park once and walk between downtown, Kerrytown, and campus rather than moving the car for each stop. Check the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority for current entrances and rates; Michigan Stadium, Nichols Arboretum entrances, Gallup Park, and outlying hotels need separate access plans.
